English

On behalf of the CGTP-IN and of the workers we represent in Portugal, we express our deep shock and repudiation for the brutal attempt in the Saint Petersburg Underground, which caused so many deaths and injuries to innocent workers and other citizens.

On this occasion, we also express our condemnation of the terrorist attacks in several countries in the world, namely in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These attacks, and the groups and States that promote and support them, try to spread chaos and fear all over the world in order to impose their domination and that of big capital against workers and peoples’ rights and sovereignty.

The CGTP-IN condemns all forms of terrorism, including State terrorism. What is increasingly clear is that only the true respect for the UN Charter and International Law, the end of military aggressions and occupations, sectarian and religious conflicts, blockades, wars, interference and blackmail against sovereign countries, can stop these criminal acts. In the complex and dangerous world we live in today, the respect and the strengthening of workers rights plays a crucial role to avoid war, to achieve the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and the security of the populations.

We express, on this occasion, our condolences to the families of the victims and our solidarity with the Russian trade unions, workers and people.
